The proposed journey

From employer gift to measurable local visit.

A simple experience for the employee could create a richer picture for the merchant. The stages below describe a proposed workflow that will be tested in a pilot.

Nine steps

The Savortown flow.

01

Merchant creates a campaign

The merchant sets gift value, employer price, geography, limits and dates.

02

Employer purchases

An eligible nearby employer chooses the merchant and purchases that merchant’s gift certificates for employees.

03

Employee receives a gift

The recipient receives a gift certificate to the employer-selected merchant, together with the employer’s message.

04

Employee visits

The gift brings a new guest to the participating local business.

05

Gift is redeemed

The selected merchant validates and redeems the certificate’s unique token or QR code through Savortown’s redemption system.

06

Visit is attributed

The redemption can connect the visit to the employer and campaign.

07

Merchant delivers the experience

Service and product quality shape whether that guest wants to return.

08

Results are reviewed

The merchant can assess redemptions and available transaction or experience signals.

09

Customer may return

Repeat behavior is a long-term measurement goal, not a guaranteed outcome.

The recipient experience

An introduction becomes a memory.

The certificate is a way in. A relaxed conversation and an enjoyable visit are what the recipient may remember.

Positioning

The gift is the introduction.

The employer chooses the participating merchant and purchases its gift certificates. The employee receives a gift to that specific business, visits it and redeems the certificate. The merchant then has an opportunity to earn the next visit.

Never market the merchant’s discount. Market the employer’s gift.
